Braid: Downstream
This track is probably my favorite out of the game. I know it wasn’t written for the game, but licensed (to kill?) for it. It gives the game a slightly different feel from the Super Mario Brothers games.
I also like Lullaby Set.
I guess it is the point that these songs are in a platform game.

That band being Barenaked Ladies which have sold over 5 million records in the US and have charted a number one hit in 1998 with “One Week.” “Shoebox,” released in 1995, is the first single off of their third studio album, Born on a Pirate Ship, which also features one of their most popular hits, “Old Apartment.”

The single was also featured on the Friends Original TV Soundtrack, a album which of course features the famous theme song for the show, “I’ll Be There for You” by The Rembrandts, but also such classics as “It’s a Free World, Baby” by R.E.M and “I Go Blind” by Hootie and The Blowfish.

Barenaked Ladies is one of my favorite bands from the ’90s so this song is just one of many that I thoroughly enjoy but this one tends to be toward the top of the list, mainly due to this line in the song, “Your so nineteen ninety / And It’s nineteen ninety four.” There is something about using a year as a term to describe someone that makes me laugh every time, especially when that year happens to be almost twenty years ago. It’s a song that a lot of people can relate to as I am sure most people had a shoebox full of memories under thier bed when they were a kid and a song that is thoroughly fun to dance and sing along to as shown by the music video below.

The music video is better than the average music video, I have to admit, but it is pretty over the top. It features the band playing in the shoebox referenced in the song and tells the story of the teenage girl sneaking out of her parents house to go see a Barenaked Ladies concert with what appears to be the man of her dreams and the subsequent “fooling around” that ensues back at his apartment. This, of course, all turns out to be a dream at the end of the video. Classic.

According to the Wikipedia article on the song, the video was supposed to feature Lisa Kudrow and Matt Lablanc from Friends but “each pulled out nearly last minute, and had to be replaced with unknown actors.” I’m not sure if those two actors would have made the video any better but it certainly would have made the video more popular. Anyway, they did a good job with the music video and at least look like they had a great time making it (see: Tyler Stewart tackling giant lipstick around the 1:30 mark).

I never understood why any of these CSI shows were so popular? I tried sitting down and watching them and a few times and found myself bored with the shows. I also can’t believe people tune in to watch such bland characters. I felt it was too much science and not enough character development. (That was part of the problem I had with Breakout Kings, because I felt the character development was weak, but the second season was much better this year.)

Hey, John Travolta, payback is a B’
With all these stories of John Travolta coming out with him sexually harassing these men, I kind of have sense of payback toward Travolta. Mainly, this is because his religion (Scientology) has harassed and spied on so many people and ruin lives with their “fair game” tactics. It seems to have come back around to one of their own now with TMZ and others digging into Travolta’s past just like Scientology would do all the time.
How many people have you gone after with your “fair game” attacks, John?
Anyway, the more he denies that he’s not gay, the more people come out alleging that he is. I can’t stress that enough, allegedly. There have been rumors that he’s been having homosexual encounters for ages now.
While I am sure some of these lawsuits aren’t backed by the truth, there has to be some truth to some of them.
Hey, John, why don’t you step out of the closet (allegedly) instead of letting your religion cover for you?
Side note: I am not sure these men coming forward understand what they’re in store for with John’s religion. They’re going to see harassment like they’ve never seen before.

From Justin to Kelly
I remember watching this turd of a movie on HBO.  I couldn’t believe how bad the movie turned out even for an American Idol Spin-off.  They rushed this movie into production to catch the popularly from Kelly Clarkson and Justin thing on AI.  (By the way, what happened to Justin Guarini?)
I have to disagree with the reviewers on one point.  It is a “so bad it’s funny” movie to me.  It doesn’t cause me pain like those Epic Movie type films.  From Justin to Kelly is so bad that you have to marvel at the sheer stupidity of it all.  No one bothered to teach Kelly how to act in front of the camera. And the script is total cow shit roasted on an open fire. But, I want everyone to see this movie, just like the worst movie ever Battlefield Earth.
Heck, watch both movies together in one sitting. I dare you. I double dare you.

~Kelly Clarkson looks completely bored in every scene.  She makes it a point to mention that she wanted NOTHING to do with the movie.  She was contractual obligated to do the movie. However, it didn’t help her line reading sounded terrible.

~And I have to give her credit for admitting the movie was bad. From People Mag ((Later, Clarkson tells Time, “I knew when I read the script it was going to be real, real bad, but when I won, I signed that piece of paper and I could not get out of it. Two words: contractually obligated.”))
~On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie is at an 8% which is higher than A Thousand Words. I want to find the critics that liked the movie. Armond White has to be one of them. He has to be.
