After I read it once, she demands that it be read again. And again. And again. No, she can’t talk, but she sure can communicate. I’ll put the book down and she’ll reach down for it, slap it repeatedly, try to open it, and look at me, and if I do not immediately open it up for a second read, she’ll grunt like a caveman, “Me want book!” It’s quite amusing.
As I read it, she gets so excited, anticipating the final page, which has a mini mirror on it. Sometimes she’ll try to rush me to the final page by turning the pages before I even read one word on them, but usually, she smiles up at me and bounces away while I read each page. (It’s short, a total of only six pages.) Hopefully I’m instilling in her a love of books, but regardless, reading time with her is already fun.
